Quick answer

Mankind Tier List lets you create a free tier list of the greatest film directors (Tarantino, Nolan, Scorsese, Miyazaki…) according to TMDB, or rank a single director’s complete filmography, by drag and drop, before exporting the result as a PNG image or sharing it with a link.

Who are these directors?

The selection mixes Hollywood filmmakers (Spielberg, Nolan, Tarantino, Scorsese…), international auteurs (Bong Joon-ho, Almodóvar…) and animation figures (Miyazaki…). Photos are provided by the TMDB API; this site uses the TMDB API but is neither endorsed nor certified by TMDB.

Rank a director’s filmography

On the home page, click the card of the director of your choice (Tarantino, Nolan, Scorsese, Miyazaki…) to open their dedicated page and rank their entire filmography, instead of the general TMDB Top of the Movies tier list.

How do you create your ranking?

  1. A selection of iconic directors (Hollywood, auteur cinema, Japanese animation…) is already ready, so all that’s left is to rank them.
  2. Drag the characters or units into the tiers of your choice.
  3. Customize the categories, download the image and share it.

Frequently asked questions

How is the selection of directors put together?

It mixes Hollywood filmmakers, international auteurs and animation figures, chosen for their renown rather than by a TMDB score (which does not rate directors the way it rates movies).

Can you rank the movies of a single director?

Yes. From the home page, click the card of the filmmaker of your choice to open their page and rank only their filmography.

Is the Directors tier list free?

Yes. The Directors tier list maker on Mankind Tier List is free and works without creating an account.

How do I share a Directors tier list on Discord?

Once your ranking is finished, use the Discord share button or download the PNG image and post it in the channel of your choice.

Can I change the tiers of the tier list?

Yes. Tiers can be renamed, reordered, recolored, added or deleted before you export your ranking.
