Where do these movies and their ratings come from?

By default, the starting ranking comes from the top-rated movies on TMDB (The Movie Database). You can also pick another source in the filters: the official IMDb ranking, a Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic or Allociné Top 250 approximation built from each site’s most popular titles, or the fixed editorial selection of TIME magazine. Posters and information shown are provided by the TMDB API; this site uses the TMDB API but is neither endorsed nor certified by TMDB, IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, Allociné or TIME.

Allociné Top 250 tier list

Select Allociné as your ratings source to rank the movies of the Allociné Top 250, an approximation built from the site’s most popular titles. Then choose a Top 50, 100 or 250 before starting your ranking.

IMDb top movies tier list

Choose IMDb as your source to get a selection close to the famous IMDb Top 250, calculated from IMDb’s official public dataset and its weighted rating formula. It is the only source based on official data rather than scraping.
